WordPress/WooCommerce Designer for Ecommerce Homepage Redesign

Job ID: 40435100

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

We need an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce designer-developer to redesign and build the homepage for our South African mobility and home-care ecommerce website, Mr Mobility.

Our website uses the Woodmart theme, so we want someone who can work within Woodmart properly. We do not want the homepage hard-coded in a way that is difficult for us to edit later. The homepage must be built in modular sections so our team can easily edit text, change images, update buttons, hide/remove sections, reorder sections, and maintain the page going forward.

We sell and rent mobility and home-care products such as adjustable beds, bedroom aids, bathroom aids, walkers, rollators, wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, home care beds, rise recliners, patient lifters, mobility scooters, pressure care products, daily living aids, incontinence products, and bariatric products.

Our customers are often families looking for help when a loved one needs extra support, elderly people wanting to remain independent, or people recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. The homepage needs to feel professional, trustworthy, warm, human, modern, and easy to navigate.

We want to keep our current Mr Mobility identity, logo, colour palette, category structure, and existing category images, but improve the homepage layout, polish, UX, mobile experience, SEO structure, and conversion flow.

Our brand colours are:

Background: #FCFCFC
Main navy/header/footer: #233550
Accent 1: #305A7B
Accent 2: #3E7FA7
Accent 3: #4CA5D3

Important: please use our existing Mr Mobility logo and current category images. Do not create a new logo or redesign the brand from scratch.

The homepage should include:

1. Header/menu using our current logo and navigation structure
2. Strong hero section with clear message and CTAs
3. Shop by Category section using our current category images
4. Trust/value section: delivery, expert guidance, quality, care, improvement
5. Hire & Rentals section
6. Our Story / brand section
7. Customer reviews/social proof
8. Better Solutions / product quality section
9. Brand/supplier logos if suitable
10. Final call-to-action section
11. Footer aligned with our current site

Suggested hero message:

“Helping You Navigate Life When Extra Support Is Needed.”

Supporting copy:

“We provide mobility and home-care solutions that make daily life easier, safer, and more comfortable — with guidance you can trust.”

Primary CTAs:

“Shop Products”
“Hire & Rentals”
“Speak to Our Team”

Technical requirements:

* Build in WordPress/WooCommerce
* Work within the existing Woodmart theme where possible
* Review Woodmart’s predefined layouts/elements before building from scratch
* Make all homepage sections easy for us to edit, remove, hide, reorder, or replace later
* Fully responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile design
* Mobile-first usability
* Fast loading and optimised for Core Web Vitals
* Use compressed images/WebP where possible
* Lazy-load below-the-fold images
* Avoid unnecessary sliders, heavy animations, and bloated plugins
* SEO-friendly structure with correct H1/H2/H3 hierarchy
* Add/edit image alt text where relevant
* Internal links to key categories, rentals, reviews, about, and contact
* Must not break existing WooCommerce functionality
* Must preserve our current category/product navigation logic

Preferred process:

1. Review our current website and Woodmart theme setup
2. Create a desktop and mobile homepage mockup, preferably in Figma
3. Get approval from us
4. Build the approved design in WordPress/WooCommerce/Woodmart
5. Optimise for mobile, speed, and SEO
6. Handover with simple instructions showing how we can edit sections later

Please include in your proposal:

* Examples of WooCommerce websites you have designed or improved
* Any experience with the Woodmart theme
* Whether you can create a Figma mockup first
* How you would keep the homepage editable for our team
* What speed/SEO optimisations you will include
* Estimated timeline
* Number of revisions included

We are looking for someone who understands ecommerce UX, mobile responsiveness, WooCommerce, brand consistency, and conversion-focused homepage design. We do not want a generic template or a complete brand reinvention. We want the best, most polished version of Mr Mobility.
