I’m looking for a WordPress developer/designer to create a small, clean website for an educational app targeting adult educators — especially teachers at "Sonderschulen" (special needs schools) in Germany.
The visual style should be inspired by the Laravel Nova admin theme:
- Minimalist, structured, elegant use of whitespace, typography-focused.
In addition, the website should feature a mind-map-inspired navigation overlay on both desktop and mobile, offering a creative exploration experience for users.
Key Features & Requirements:
- WordPress-based, flexible on lightweight themes or custom approaches
- Design Aims:
Frontend (Visitor View):
• Clean, structured, minimalist design inspired by the Laravel Nova theme (https://nova.laravel.com/).
• Elegant typography, good use of whitespace, admin-panel-style dashboard aesthetic.
• Custom mind-map-style navigation overlay on desktop and mobile for exploration (compare c-roots.com on a desktop - not on mobile).
Backend (Admin Panel):
• Standard WordPress Admin (WP-Admin) is sufficient — no customization required.
- Multilingual-ready (plugin okay; German only for launch)
- Signup form for beta program (school-email required, school name, name optional)
- Animated counters (2–3): E.g., beta signups, visitors, achievements
- Clean, responsive, and performance-optimized build
- EU Compliance Requirements:
• GDPR-compliant form handling
• Cookie consent banner
• Accessibility (screen reader support, keyboard navigation, color contrast)
• German-standard Imprint (Impressum) and Privacy Policy pages
- Cross-browser and cross-device support (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge; mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Backend must be easy to maintain (no hardcoded content)
Content & Audience:
- Website targets adult educators (teachers at "Sonderschulen" in Germany).
- Content structure will be similar to https://splint.schule — clear, focused, informative.
- Visual design (colors, fonts, layout) should echo the feel of the Laravel Nova theme to match the app branding.
- Navigation experience should creatively add the mind-map exploration element.
Technical Notes:
- Hosting and staging environment provided.
- Plugins may be used (for forms, multilingual support, counters, cookie compliance) if lightweight and GDPR-compliant.
- Page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg, Bricks, etc.) are allowed — please specify your preferred tools.
- Clean code and fast loading are priorities.
Deliverables:
- Fully working WordPress website deployed on staging server
- Documentation of all plugins and third-party assets used (only licensed or open-source)
- Short user guide (simple walkthrough doc or screen recording) for content updates
- Full transfer of all Intellectual Property (IP) rights to the client upon final payment
- Production-ready site
Timeline:
- 2–3 weeks for initial go-live after project start.
Budget:
- USD 250–500 (project is posted in $250-750 category but $500 is my max)
- Final bids only — no placeholder bids.
- I will engage in Q&A with 2–4 shortlisted freelancers. Bids can be retracted after discussion if necessary, but cannot be revised upward after submission.

Please note that the mind-map navigation is a non-standard UX element requiring custom design and implementation. Basic theme setups without UX customization will not fit this project... otherwise, it'd be a $100 project ;-)
