WordPress and Polylang Specialist Needed

SITUATION:
I initially set up my multilingual website as a multisite, but this approach has proven to be unmanageable due to significant functional differences between the two language versions. Therefore, I want to switch to a single-site architecture and add the translated content directly.
IMPLEMENTATION:
Move Content:
Move the German content from the subsite (root.de/de) to the root site (root.de).
Configure Polylang:
Install and activate Polylang on the root site.
Set German as the primary language.
Add English as the secondary language in Polylang settings.
Structure URLs:
Configure Polylang to use /de for German content and /en for English content.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
SEO and Redirects:
Ensure proper 301 redirects from the old subsite URLs to the new single-site URLs to maintain SEO rankings.
Ideally the Polylang language extensions /DE and /EN will replace the multisite subfolders /DE and /EN such that no redirects are necessary.
Testing:
Thoroughly test the site after migration to ensure all links and translations are working correctly.
SEO Plugins:
The currently deployed SEO plugin is YOAST. Apply the above SEO settings in a way that facilitates an easy switch to RANK MATH in the future (this will be part of a separate project).

Proficiency in using Polylang for multilingual websites.
Strong understanding of SEO best practices, including experience with Yoast and Rank Math.
Ability to manage URL structures and 301 redirects effectively.
