WordPress Performance Expert Needed (Newsy Theme + Mediavine) – Speed, Redesign & Optimization
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We run a content-heavy news platform on WordPress using the Newsy Theme.
We are looking for a highly experienced WordPress performance specialist to:
Redesign key sections (clean, modern, fast UX)
Significantly improve page speed (desktop + mobile)
Optimize site without breaking Mediavine ads
Ensure zero conflicts with existing cron jobs (cPanel-based)
This is not a basic dev job — we need someone who understands performance engineering + ad-tech constraints + publishing workflows.
Key Objectives
Mobile PageSpeed: 80+
Desktop PageSpeed: 90+
Core Web Vitals:
LCP < 2.5s
CLS < 0.1 (critical due to ads)
INP optimized
Scope of Work
1. Performance Optimization
Eliminate render-blocking resources
Defer/delay non-critical JavaScript
Optimize CSS delivery
Image optimization (next-gen formats, lazy loading)
Font optimization (preload, subset)
2. Mediavine-Safe Optimization (CRITICAL)
Ensure ads load correctly with no revenue impact
Prevent CLS shifts from ad placements
Maintain proper script execution order
3. Caching & Server Optimization
Setup/optimize caching (e.g. WP Rocket / LiteSpeed / similar)
Object caching (Redis preferred if applicable)
CDN setup (if needed)
Brotli/GZIP compression
4. Theme & Frontend Optimization (Newsy)
Reduce DOM size
Remove unused widgets/modules
Optimize homepage & category pages (high traffic areas)
Improve mobile UX
5. Database & Backend
Clean autoloaded data
Optimize database queries
Audit and ensure cron jobs run efficiently without duplication
6. SEO & Structure
Improve schema (NewsArticle, Article)
Optimize internal linking
Fix crawl inefficiencies
Work with plugins like Yoast SEO or RankMath
Constraints (Non-Negotiable)
Site runs Mediavine ads → DO NOT break ad delivery
Site uses cron jobs → NO interference
Work must be done on staging first, then deployed
Requirements

Understand Core Web Vitals deeply
