Speed up Wordpress Websites (Improve Google PageSpeed Score) - Website Optimization
Budget: £10 – £100 GBP
I'd like to achieve a higher Google PageSpeed score on my 2 ecommerce websites, especially for mobile. Both websites are essentially the same, 1 is retail, 1 is wholesale, both use OceanWP and Elementor. I've tried both Breeze and WP Rocket plugins and can't get over 30-ish on mobile (desktop is hovering around the 85 mark), I just don't have the expertise to tweak things properly. I've tried to unload certain CSS and JS from the OceanWP theme but it keeps breaking the custom Elementor header I've created.
Recently changed the server to a Vultr High Frequency 4GB VPS through Cloudways, I believe they use an Apache Nginx hybrid stack. Also enabled the CloudwaysCDN but it's not making much of a difference.
Possible areas to tweak:
- Unload unused OceanWP CSS & JS
- Setup WP Rocket or Breeze plugins for caching
- Defer JS
- Find and remove Google Analytics code that's being loaded and use CAOS plugin for local analytics file instead
- Get Optimole working with caching plugin and serving WebP images
The CPU and RAM also keep spiking, if a freelancer could also help figuring out what the cause of that is I would be very grateful.
