Repair Wordpress Database

I have a wordpress website that is having issues with the database currently.
The issue started this morning when my website was completely unresponsive and stopped working. Once the website stopped working I did a full restore of the website through ACRONIS backup, after the restore was completed a new error appeared saying the database could not be connected.
The error message is still appearing, from my CPANEL I can see the database is there but it is not being picked up on MY SQL.
