My teammate and I have a PHP-based site that will eventually go live, but right now we can’t even keep it running on our own computers. The strange part is that the project occasionally boots, then crashes a short time later—no explicit error screen, it just stops responding. Because the site is not yet hosted anywhere, getting a stable local setup is mission-critical before we push ahead with new features.

Once you have it, please spin it up on your environment—Apache / Nginx, MySQL or MariaDB, whatever stack you prefer—and pinpoint why the application collapses after that brief initial start-up window.
