Optimize speed of wordpress site

I have a customer with a WooCommerce site. They are getting low scores on Google PageSpeed insights and GTMetrix.com
I have done the little optimization that I can and now I need to call in the "big boys", or girls for that matter.
The site is hosted on WPEngine and uses WPRocket, still I don't get better scores than 30-40 or a D.
