Import XML product feed to WooCOmmerce
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
This is a WordPress/WooCOmmerce store. They have a supplier that has an XML feed to import products. I have attached the XML file for you to view.
We will create a STANDALONE PORTAL website on the same domain as the WooCOmmerce site where the XML feed we receive from supplier is imported. Here we will show all the products PER CATEGORY and you will then be able to select which items you want to show on your website by a checkbox. As we then sync the PORTAL with main WooCommerce site, it will load the products that you selected and load them along with creating the categories.
So the PORTAL will have a menu for IMPORT PRODUCTS | VIEW PRODUCTS | MANAGE MARKUP.
IMPORT PRODUCTS
This will simply be where you import the XML file via upload or URL based
We will import the following fields Title, ProductCode, Description, Category, Price, ImageURL
VIEW PRODUCTS
When you click on VIEW PRODUCTS you will see all the CATEOGRIES as we pull it from the feed itself. When you click on a CATEGORY, you will see all the products listed from A-Z for that specific category – A search function within a CATEGORY will be a plus. We will see the following data inside a category:
CHECKBOX, Title, ProductCode, Description(truncated to 50 chars), Price, MARKUP field, Image
Each product must have a CHECKBOX in front of it, if you select it, the product will be synced to the main website. Each item must also have a field for MARKUP where you can overwrite the DEFAULT markup set. This page will have a SAVE button at the bottom to save updates (selected items and markups) – We will list 100 items per page.
MANAGE MARKUP
This will only have a value where you can set a default markup value (%) which will be applied to all products we import. We will show current markup and user have option to change it as well.
We will set a cronjob on the server to sync these settings to the main site every 2 hours. On the WooCommerce side there will be no work, if the products are pulled automatically and the categories are created as they sync there will be no work to do on the WooCommerce side.
