Fix problem with WordPress plugin - server load, php-fpm - ASAP
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I'm looking for a developer to help identify the problem created by two plugins being active at the same time (that should work together). I will be able to provide any access needed or you can tell me what reports you need and I'll run them. We've done the standard plugin/theme troubleshooting.
First Goal: Identify the specific problem - processes running, cron jobs, etc. so that we can send it to their support.
Second Goal: If it's an issue with my server, recommend what needs to be changed/adjusted and I'll have inmotion confirm/execute. If it's an issue with their plugins that's easily fixed, we may just fix it and tell them what we did, but I would prefer to make them fix it correctly.
Problem:
When activating the Divi Calendar Plugin (which works with The Events Calendar/Pro), my dedicated server load goes through the roof.
Site: https://discovermuscatine.com
Plugins:
*Divi Events Calendar Version 2.6.7 | By Pee-Aye Creative
*The Events Calendar Pro Version 6.0.11 | By The Events Calendar
Scenario:
With plugin off: loads around 2-4 and everything loads decently well. Turn the plugin on and it either shoots to 15-20 or creeps up over time with significantly more php-fpm pools open. Turn the plugin off and it drops back to normal. Debugging doesn't show any problems with the Divi Calendar Plugin, and some with the Events Calendar.
Support Situation:
The Divi Calendar plugin developer says there's no errors in the php related to them, so they aren't really doing anything. The Events Calendar team is kind of giving me the run around. They did a major upgrade a couple of versions ago and it's been a challenge for them, specifically around recurring events. Previously, I had to keep running php 7.4 or turning on The Events Calendar would break the site. Now, I've been able to get it to 8.0 and it is working somewhat better. Inmotion Hosting provides my server and tech support and are available as needed.
