DIVI Website very slow

I have a wordpress website with DIVI and when caching is not being used, it is extremely slow. I have tried everything from disabling unnecessary plugins, added caching, and I have disabled some of the scripts. I am running the query monitor on it, and there are 9046 duplicate requests, which assume is part of what is making it slow. It also has some other issues like et_builder_is_mod_pagespeed_enabled which I have tried to turn off. I need someone with more expertise in this than I have. I am not as familiar with DIVI as I am with other builders.
