Project Title: WordPress Plugin for Virtual DataTables with Excel Import and Access Control

Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled developer to create a custom WordPress plugin with two main frontend pages using shortcodes. This plugin will facilitate the creation and management of virtual tables, imported from Excel files, and will utilize WordPress user metadata to control data access based on user roles. The plugin should leverage jQuery, Bootstrap, and DataTables for functionality and UI presentation.
Key Requirements:
1. Plugin Pages and Setup:
• Setup Page: Users can create “virtual tables” (not actual database tables) and define access levels (Personal, Department, or Site) for each table. Users will upload data through an Excel import, which populates the tables’ columns and rows.
• Display Page: Allows users to select and view any virtual tables marked as “Personal” (specific to them) or shared tables tagged for their Department or Site, based on their user metadata.
2. Data Management:
• Excel data uploads populate the table dynamically; each table’s data is stored in a JSON format in the database for easy retrieval and rendering.
• The data structure will include:
• ID: Auto-incremented identifier.
• UserID: Identifier for the user creating the table.
• ReportID: A taxonomy ID that stores the table’s name and access type.
• Data: JSON format representing rows and columns from the Excel file.
3. Access Control and UI:
• Only accessible from the frontend (no backend interface), using shortcodes to embed pages within WordPress.
• Users can manage access settings (Personal, Department, or Site) when creating tables.
• jQuery, Bootstrap, and DataTables will enhance user interaction and presentation of the tables.
Skills Required:
The ideal freelancer should be proficient in WordPress plugin development, jQuery, Bootstrap, and DataTables, with experience in managing database storage and retrieval for frontend displays.
