WP Custom Categories

I need some urgent but professional support. We have moved a new website design to a new server hosting and the Custom Categories are no longer displaying correctly or linking to the correct sectors. However they are working on an early stage development site. We CANNOT overwrite the new database as too much work has been carried out since and we cannot afford to lose anything.
I need someone who can start straight away and who is 100% experienced in WP and Custom categories. There are over 800 entries on this website that we cannot afford to lose. All work must be confidential.
We would be open to swapping to GeoLocation plugin if this would be a relatively simple thing to do.
