Create Simple WordPress Category Pages

I need several new category pages built on my existing WordPress site and I want them done right the first time. Each page must automatically pull and display the appropriate WordPress posts for its category, following the clean, straightforward designs I will supply.
My previous developer left a few quirks behind, so your work has to respect current theme settings, avoid plugin conflicts and keep page-load times fast. You will receive the design files as soon as we start; your job is to translate them into working template(s), assign them to the relevant categories, and verify that pagination, breadcrumbs and SEO-friendly URLs remain intact.
