I run an entertainment news site and need a journalist skilled in news writing who can jump on breaking stories the moment they surface. The focus is strictly showbiz, so you’ll be covering celebrity announcements, film and TV releases, red-carpet moments, awards, and any other headline-worthy developments in the entertainment world.
You should feel at home working to real-time deadlines—ideally turning a clean, fact-checked 300--500-word article within 30–45 minutes of the news breaking. An eye for accuracy, an ear for AP style, and the ability to attribute sources correctly are essential. Experience with WordPress (or a similar CMS), basic image editing, and on-page SEO will help the pieces go live smoothly.
Deliverables
• Timely breaking-news articles focused on showbiz (minimum three per shift)
• Accurate headlines and subheads optimized for search and social
• Properly credited images and links to primary sources
