Alberta Sikh History Project
Budget: $25 – $50 CAD
I am looking for someone with extensive knowledge and skills in WordPress who had high competency in WPML. Knowledge of Panjabi language an asset, but it is not necessary.
I require technical assistance, as well as limited, but ongoing, consulting / tutorials / technical troubleshooting.
The website is part of the Alberta Sikh History Project by Dr. Michael Hawley at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. The website has already been created in Word Press, and data has been loaded in some pages and categories. The website is not yet public. The website is bilingual: English and Panjabi. The website houses a range of media and functions including .jpeg and .pdf documents, audio and video files, and a comment / feedback section.
Tasks requiring attention at present mainly involve making changes to existing website:
i. remove Everest Timeline, and replace with new tab and a link to ArcGIS Storymap;
ii. create ability to post longer .pdf documents on web pages, such as transcripts of interviews and biographical essays (ranging from 2-30+ pages);
iii. rename some tabs, pages, and categories on website, as well as on their Panjabi counterparts; and
iv. make alterations to ‘comment and feedback’ section on homepage
Given the content of this website and of the broader research project, job preference will be given to qualified Sikhs living in Alberta, Canada.
