Add new Google Maps functions to a Wordpress theme

https://main.mylistingtheme.com/ < -- This theme contains nearly all of the functionality that I need to create a directory which focuses on vendors in the shipping industry.
Currently, the logic of that theme organizes vendors around their physical location, which is then filtered by preset categories.
However, when a potential customer searches for a vendor in the shipping industry, the physical location of that vendor is unusually unimportant. Far more important is knowing which world region(s) that vendor specializes in, and operates in. So I want to add functionality that focuses on helping potential customers find shipping industry vendors in any world region that the customer chooses.
I would like to do this in two main ways ...
1. In regards to the administrator’s backend; I would like to add the capability to associate vendors with the world regions that they specialize in.
2. In regards to the front-end; I would like to add functionality to the Google map that is used by the theme which will allow a potential customer to search for vendors that specialize in their chosen world region.
I would like to begin as soon as possible.
