Updates & Fixes on WordPress Website
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Need someone to do some updates and fixes on an existing WordPress site. Previous developer did not complete the job so I need someone reliable who is available now. These are the pending issues:
1. MOST URGENT - I want to be able to post a merchandise sale notification for the holidays (no later than Nov. 1st) so that it appears on the HOME page and at the TOP of the SHOP page. Right now in the dashboard under APPEARANCE - WOOCOMMERCE - STORE NOTICE, there is an option to post an announcement but it appears in the footer and it is not very visible. Note: I used to be able to post a temporary announcement in the WooCommerce Shop page on the left side bar but now I receive an error message: Error thrown - Call to a member function get_cart() on null. This needs to be fixed.
2. I was receiving thousands of fraudulent transactions. Previous developer successfully blocked these attacks but the Fraud Tools of Braintree Payments recommends that the "Device Data Capture" be configured to TRUE since it is not capturing device data, which increases the accuracy in determining when a transaction is fraudulent. Currently it says FALSE. Previous developer was unsuccessful in doing this.
I have instructions Braintree sent me to update my client-side and server-side code to collect and pass device data. But device data collection for Fraud Protection is available only for the following client SDK versions and higher:
• iOS 4.32.0: released on Feb 18, 2020
• Android 3.9.0: released on Feb 20, 2020
• Web 3.58.0: released on Feb 13, 2020
I don't what I have.
3. Update plug-ins in general but specifically, the website's theme (Silverscreen Child). There are 2 USPS plugins on my site, only one is enabled, the second should be removed. The USPS (U.S. Postal Service) sent me an email saying that Integrators currently using an HTTP endpoint should transition as soon as possible to the appropriate HTTPS endpoint below to prevent any loss of service. You are receiving this message because you have been identified as a user of the HTTP endpoints for Web Tools API requests. Please review the message carefully and share with your web developer to determine if your use of the Web Tools APIs will be affected.
I receive emails from SITELOCK with website scanning results that say there are 2 high urgency issues with my website's PLATFORM. Not sure if updating the theme would fix this?
4. In the SHOPPING CART when inputting the shipping address, there used to be a "Clear Shipping Address" link to the right of the "Copy Billing Address" link but the previous developer removed it. Please reinstate it.
5. In SHOPPING CART at the bottom you could "Calculate Shipping". The previous developer changed it to "Change Address". Please reinstate the original.
6. In the SHOPPING CART address fields , developer successfully posted a message informing customers from Puerto Rico to select "United States" but he did not remove "Puerto Rico" as a separate listing in the COUNTRIES listed. Please do so.
7. Can you setup the customer phone field so that it is in a standardized format: for example: 123-456-789 (with the hyphens). Some people just input it altogether and others add the parentheses but I want it to look the same.
8. In the DASHBOARD - SOLDIERS - ADD NEW template, the original developer placed these two fields (Soldier First Name and Soldier Last Name) at the bottom. These fields should be moved to the top above the COMPANY field. See attached screenshot of the top and bottom pages.
Please give me either an estimated quote of what it will cost me or a flat rate. And let me know what your availability is as I spent almost one month waiting for the previous developer to complete the job and he was too busy with other jobs and did not complete it.
