Modern WordPress.com Blog Design

I already host my blog on WordPress.com, but turning the default blocks into something truly polished has been tougher than expected. I’d like a fresh, modern look that lets my long-form analysis pieces shine and feels effortless for readers on any device.


The essentials I want to see in the finished design are:
• Featured posts section that highlights either my latest or hand-picked articles
• Table of contents widget in a second column of posts

I need the final setup to remain fully editable through the standard WordPress.com customiser—no hidden code that locks me out of future tweaks.

If you prefer using a block-based theme or another WordPress.com-friendly builder, that works for me as long as the result is fast, responsive, and visually consistent. I’m ready to get started as soon as I find the right match.
