Once, there was a town hidden deep in the mountains, a place lost to time. In the heart of that town stood a door—an old, heavy wooden door with iron locks, rusted from years of neglect. No one knew where it led or why it stood alone, simply planted in the middle of an overgrown square. The townspeople had long grown accustomed to its eerie presence, their grandparents' tales warning them never to touch it.

"That door... it holds a secret," they would say. But no one ever dared to inquire about the secret. They just knew.

One rainy evening, a young girl named Elara arrived in the town. She was new, bold, and filled with a curiosity that made the local children uneasy. "Why won't anyone talk about that door?" she asked. They only shook their heads in response.

One night, compelled by an unseen force, Elara could no longer resist. She slipped out of her house, the moon full and the air thick with whispers—faint, unintelligible, but growing louder as she approached the door. Her heart raced, but her feet moved of their own accord.

Standing before the door, the whispers seemed to swirl around her, conveying messages in a language she couldn’t comprehend, yet felt deep within. Her hand, trembling, reached for the iron handle. The moment her fingers brushed against it, the whispers ceased.

Silence.

The door creaked open slowly, revealing... nothing. A black void, as if the world itself ended beyond its frame. Elara's breath caught, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she shouldn’t, but she stepped forward, into the darkness.

As soon as her foot crossed the threshold, the door slammed shut behind her with a deafening bang. The town stirred, people waking from their beds, rushing to the square, only to find... the door was gone. Vanished. In its place, the grass grew, undisturbed, as if it had never existed.

Elara was never seen again.

But sometimes, late at night, the townspeople hear faint whispers—just like the ones Elara heard that fateful night.
