OpenOffice macros

I need an OpenOffice macro to remove from a Open Office Writer document markers inserted by Indexing of Names (shown in gray in document) and soft hyphens. If this can be done by Search and Replace then only need guidance on how to do this and a macro is not needed.

Another macro to remove leading blanks (trim) from paragraphs.
