Microsoft Word file editing

I have a word file that seems to have some formatting to it that I cannot figure out and need it cleaned up. The pages are split horizontally and I would like to make the left side wider, then increase the font of the writing. When I try to increase the font size now, it is moving the font from the right side to the left, making the articles mix together. I need someone who can clean up the file so it is easier to read.
