About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable virtual assistant with advanced proficiency in ChatGPT (paid version only – GPT-4 or later) to assist with the professional translation of a legal document (~35 pages) into both Swahili and Kinyarwanda. The assistant must be fluent in English, possess excellent Microsoft Word formatting and layout skills, and demonstrate sensitivity to legal terminology and language nuance in both target languages.
This role may evolve into a long-term collaboration depending on performance and alignment with our standards.
Responsibilities
Use ChatGPT (paid version only) to assist in the translation of a legal document (~35 pages) from English into Swahili and Kinyarwanda.
Ensure translations are:
Accurate, preserving all legal terminology and intent.
Culturally appropriate and nuanced, reflecting the syntactic and semantic integrity of each language.
Formatted in MS Word to match the original document layout, including headers, tables, footnotes, and legal formatting.
Perform a human-quality review of AI-assisted translations for grammar, tone, and correctness.
Deliver two complete versions (Swahili and Kinyarwanda) within 48 hours of assignment.
Requirements
Access to and proficient use of the ChatGPT paid version (no free version or other AI tools accepted).
Native or near-native proficiency in Swahili and Kinyarwanda.
Excellent command of English.
Understanding of legal terminology and experience in legal translations.
