Fix Children’s Book Formatting
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have a 159-page 6×9 Word manuscript for a children’s chapter book that’s almost ready for KDP print, but the interior layout still needs a professional touch. Several pages begin lower on the page than they should, and a few unexplained blank pages appear—most likely leftover page breaks I missed. These alignment glitches pop up at random, not just at chapter starts or after images.
What I need from you:
• Remove any stray page or section breaks causing the gaps.
• Make sure every page’s top margin is consistent so text sits where it’s supposed to.
• Keep the dozens of small inline images exactly where they belong relative to the text.
• Set up correct pagination so page 1 of the story (not the front matter) starts counting where it should. I already built a Table of Contents and will update its page numbers once the body is fixed.
• Deliver a clean, editable .docx that I can upload directly to KDP for a 6×9, no-bleed paperback without further tweaks.
If you’re familiar with KDP specs and can spot—and eliminate—those hidden Word quirks quickly, this will be a straightforward job.
