Financial Analysis - Chapter 1B Excel and Word Tasks

Job ID: 40180834

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Complete these Ch 1B requirements for the chapter 1 ongoing analysis project and post your updated Excel template and Word analysis here.

1. Complete the initial chapter 1 template data for your company on the Template worksheet in your Excel file. You will always complete the chapter's required data BEFORE starting each chapter's required ratios and analyses.

2. Chapter 1 has very few items required for the Analysis component. Do NOT type in the data if it is already given in the financials – use cell references whenever available! FYI the data template worksheet may not have every asset, liability, etc. account that your company reports in its official financial statements. If this is the case, DO NOT ADD ANY ROWS TO THE DATA TEMPLATE. If an account is not listed in the template, please include the amount of the missing asset, liability, etc. in the "Other" category. For example, if you have an account called "Long-term strange assets" in your company balance sheet, and it is NOT listed in the Excel template, please include it in the "Other Assets" row in the template. Your subtotals on the template {so, current assets, total assets, current liabilities, etc.] MUST match the totals on your company's financial statements

3. Using the Analysis items on the Template worksheet, in columns H and I, calculate the CY and PY ratios using only data from the Template worksheet [unless otherwise noted]. In column J indicate whether the Expected direction of a healthy ratio should be higher or lower. In column K (Trend), indicate whether YOUR CY is better or worse than your PY.

Answer the following items for chapter 1 in a separate Word document named LastName CompanyName Ch1b. Include any additional analysis items that may be listed in column L of the Excel file. Remember, you are always comparing two years' results for your one company [anywhere it states "...for each company", you are doing the comparison for the CY and PY of YOUR company, not one year for two different companies]. If you have already calculated an item in Excel, do NOT retype the calculations in the analysis. Just note SEE EXCEL and proceed with the analysis of your Excel results. For example, in analysis bullet points 3-6, you will have already calculated those items in Excel.

5. Post two files [your renamed Excel template and your Word chapter analysis in Canvas. Every chapter, after you receive your graded Excel file with my feedback, make corrections in the GRADED Excel file and rename it to use in the next chapter. You then add the next chapter's data and ratios. You will submit a new Word file for each chapter's required written analyses.

6. Every chapter, you will make corrections in the Excel file, and then continue adding the next chapter's data and ratios. I will return each graded OA to you as soon as I can with comments. Remember to rename the original Excel file …Ch1 to …Ch2, etc.

You MUST submit a new Word file for each chapter's required discussion. Do not rename old Word files - these are standalone analyses.
