Excel VBA code update
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I already have a partial VBA solution that pulls data from an Excel workbook and produces a quote in Word, however it needs a complete refresh. The goal is to end up with a single, well-structured macro that:
• Adds new capabilities: picking only the components I mark in Excel, dropping everything else, and then merging the remaining data into one of my preset Word templates to create a finished quote.
• Improves and streamlines the existing logic where necessary; parts of the current script are clunky and slow.
• Fixes any run-time errors so the routine executes end-to-end without interruptions.
Selection and omission must follow clear rules: primarily by component type, plus a small set of custom business rules that I will supply in a lookup sheet. As soon as the macro runs, the chosen template should open, prune any unused component tables or paragraphs, fill the bookmarked fields, and save the document to a target folder using a naming convention already defined in the workbook.
You will receive:
- My current workbook with the legacy code commented for reference.
- Three Word templates with bookmarks and content controls.
- The rule matrix for component filtering.
Deliverables I expect back:
1. Fully-commented VBA module(s) inserted in the workbook.
2. Any helper functions or Word references enabled and documented.
3. A brief setup note so I can maintain the code myself.
Turnaround is important; a first working draft within a few days would be ideal so we can iterate quickly. If you’ve automated Excel-to-Word document creation before, especially with conditional content, you’ll feel right at home here.
