I have an 841-page A4 English manuscript that now needs a professionally built subject index. The book covers several broad themes, so the index must be more than a simple alphabetical list; I want it organised into custom categories that group related entries for easier navigation.
Here is what I need from you:
• A subject-focused index that captures the book’s main topics and drills down to relevant subtopics.
• Dedicated entries for every individual, place and other proper noun referenced, woven naturally into the category structure so readers can jump straight to the information they need.
The finished index should be delivered as a clean, ready-to-drop-in Word (or compatible) file, with each page reference checked against the final layout of the manuscript. If you prefer Cindex, SkyIndex, InDesign’s indexing panel or another professional tool, feel free to use it—accuracy and usability are what matter most.
