Fix OCR Errors and Add Formatting to Word Documents

Job ID: 40019208

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am looking for help formatting Word documents converted from PDFs. You are not expected to proofread original content—only fix errors caused by OCR. Any mistakes in the original PDFs must remain in the final Word files.

In your offer, provide only:
1. A flat-fee quote for the entire project.
2. The time required to complete it from the date of assignment.

You will receive the original PDFs and their OCR-generated Word files. Tasks include:
1. Correct OCR typos by comparing the Word file with the PDF (paying close attention to text under stamps; most OCR errors are highlighted in blue).
2. Indent all quotes and lists (1”) and ensure no other text is indented.
3. Remove colons from the ends of headings.
4. Capitalize headings correctly (capitalize major words; do not capitalize articles, short prepositions, or coordinating conjunctions).
5. Apply accurate Heading levels 1–4.
6. Replace footnote reference numbers with [FN#].
7. List footnotes at the end, starting with [FN#], and insert “Footnotes” as a Heading 1.
8. Replace curly quotes with straight quotes; use single quotes only inside words; use double straight quotes for all quotations.
9. Do not use automated paragraph numbering; use the format 9.␣ (digit, period, space).

Formatting requirements:
1. Add an empty line after each paragraph and bullet/numbered point.
2. Use Aptos 12 pt throughout.
3. Single spacing, with no spacing before or after paragraphs.
4. Heading styles:
• H1: Aptos 12 bold CAPS
• H2: Aptos 12 bold
• H3: Aptos 12 italic underlined
5. Ensure no text is highlighted.

A sample file is attached. Most PDFs are good quality, but a few are not.

Project scope:
• 35 English files (841 pages)
• 16 French files (434 pages)
• 2 Portuguese files (14 pages)
• 1 Arabic file (66 pages)

Please provide a preliminary quote. Shortlisted candidates will receive all documents to finalize their quote. Payment will only be made for completion of the entire set.
