Extract text from a PDF (in french) to Word

Need to get *only the text* from a 30 page PDF into a Word file to be able to run it through an automatic translator into spanish. The job is basically a careful cut & paste from the main text formatted as columns and legends. I do not need items like the names of people (p 2,3), nor the table of contents (p4), which would delay the task. I will pay a bonus for the (machine) translation into spanish.
