Shopify-to-WooCommerce Multi-Store Migration for Large Ecommerce Store = (Only Experienced Freelancers Preferred )
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We operate Shopify ecommerce stores in the lighting and home décor space, with a combined catalog of ~45,000 products.
Shopify has become too expensive and restrictive, and we want full ownership and control of:
Content
Product data
SEO
Infrastructure
We are looking for an experienced freelancer or small team to help us design and execute a migration to a self-hosted AWS + WordPress/WooCommerce solution, built for scale, performance, and long-term maintainability.
This is not a basic WordPress job. Experience with large catalogs, AWS, performance optimization, and ecommerce migrations is mandatory.
Scope of Work
1️⃣ Architecture & Planning (Mandatory)
Propose a scalable AWS architecture for:
WordPress + WooCommerce
~45,000 products
3 - storefronts
Recommend:
EC2 / RDS / Redis / CDN setup
Media storage strategy (S3/EFS)
Search & filtering approach (Elastic/OpenSearch or equivalent)
Decide between:
WordPress Multisite vs separate installs
SEO-safe URL and redirect strategy
Deliverable:
Architecture diagram
Infra sizing recommendation
Migration plan (step-by-step)
2️⃣ Shopify → WooCommerce Product Migration
Export products from multiple Shopify stores
Handle:
Simple + variable products
SKUs, pricing, inventory
Images & galleries
Categories, attributes (important for lighting filters)
Normalize and clean data (Shopify CSVs are inconsistent)
Import into WooCommerce at scale
Ensure data accuracy & validation
Deliverable:
Fully migrated product catalog
Verified counts (products, variants, images)
3️⃣ WooCommerce Setup & Optimization
Configure WooCommerce for large catalogs
Attribute-based filtering (finish, size, voltage, bulb base, etc.)
Performance optimization:
Object caching
Query optimization
Search performance
Ensure admin usability for bulk updates
4️⃣ SEO Preservation
Maintain or improve existing SEO rankings
URL mapping & 301 redirects
Meta titles/descriptions migration
Sitemap generation
Google Search Console readiness
5️⃣ Storefront Support (Phase-wise)
Start with one primary store (pilot)
Once stable, replicate setup for remaining stores
Each store may have:
Different branding
Different collections
Possibly different pricing rules
Tech Stack Preference
(You may propose improvements, but justify them)
AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudFront, Redis, S3/EFS)
WordPress + WooCommerce
Strong preference for:
Scalable DB design
Search optimization for large catalogs
Payments:
Razorpay / Stripe / PayPal (India-friendly setup)
