Checkout Experience Overhaul for LORE Website

Job ID: 40402708

Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR

We are LORE, a premium Indian skincare brand (www.lorenatural.com) built on WordPress and WooCommerce. Our website has warm, cinematic brand aesthetics — muted earth tones, botanical imagery, elegant serif typography, and a deliberately slow, premium feel. We need our checkout experience to match this standard and stop losing customers at the final step.
This is a fixed-budget project at ₹1500 - 2,000. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently within this scope using free or already-installed plugins where possible, and CSS/PHP customisation where needed. No premium plugin purchases should be factored into this budget — solutions must be achievable with free tools.
What We Need Done
The first task is to enable and optimise guest checkout. Go to WooCommerce Settings and enable guest checkout as the default and primary option. Account creation should be offered optionally after the order is placed, not before. Remove any prompts or pop-ups that ask for account creation before payment is complete.
The second task is a visual and layout upgrade of the checkout page. The checkout must feel like LORE — not like a generic WooCommerce form. Using the free CartFlows plugin or CSS customisation of our existing theme, implement a two-column layout (billing details on the left, order summary on the right), add a three-step progress indicator at the top (Cart → Details → Payment), and ensure all fonts and colours match our existing brand palette. The checkout page background should use our cream or warm off-white tones. No generic WooCommerce blue buttons — all CTA buttons should use our brand colour.
The third task is to add trust signals to the checkout page. Using a simple shortcode or widget, add the following elements below the order summary column: a row of payment security logos (SSL padlock, Visa, Mastercard, UPI, RuPay), a single line that reads "Easy returns — see our policy" with a hyperlink to our returns page, and one short customer testimonial pulled from our existing reviews, displayed in small, elegant italic text.
The fourth task is to audit and confirm our payment gateway covers UPI, net banking, major credit and debit cards, and Cash on Delivery. If any of these are missing from our current Razorpay or payment gateway setup, identify which are absent and provide us with written instructions to enable them ourselves — do not make gateway-level changes without our approval, but flag what is missing.
The fifth task is mobile responsiveness. Test the checkout on mobile screen sizes (375px width minimum) and fix any layout, font size, or field spacing issues that create friction on a touchscreen. All input fields must be appropriately sized for touch input. The two-column layout should collapse to a single column on mobile, with the order summary appearing above the billing form.
The sixth and final task is an exit-intent popup. Using the free Popup Maker or Hustle plugin, implement an exit-intent popup that triggers when a user shows intent to leave the checkout page. The popup must follow LORE's brand aesthetics entirely — warm background colour, elegant serif headline, no discount language of any kind. The headline should read: "Before you go — meet the people who chose LORE." Below it, a brief two-line description: "Real people. Real rituals. See what the LORE community is saying before you decide." Below that, a single CTA button linking to our testimonials or LORE by YOU page. The popup must have a clear, unobtrusive close button and must not appear more than once per session.
Deliverables
Upon completion, we expect a brief written summary of every change made, with before-and-after screenshots of the checkout page on both desktop and mobile. We also expect a note on any issues discovered — particularly regarding payment methods — that require our action to resolve.
Platform and Access
Our site runs on WordPress with WooCommerce. We will provide WordPress admin access. Do not make changes to any page other than the checkout, cart, and any global CSS that specifically affects the checkout experience. Do not touch product pages, the homepage, or any WooCommerce settings outside of checkout configuration.
Brand Reference
Visit www.lorenatural.com before beginning work. The brand is warm, quiet, premium, and cinematic. Every design decision at checkout must feel like a natural continuation of the product pages — not a separate, transactional experience. If you are uncertain whether a design choice is on-brand, err on the side of simplicity and warmth.
Budget
This is a fixed project at ₹1500-2,000. Please do not apply if your quote exceeds this. All plugin solutions used must be free. If you identify something that genuinely requires a paid plugin to accomplish correctly, note it in your proposal with the cost — but do not assume we will approve it.
