I have a spare TP-Link router that I want to convert into a dedicated wireless access point so it can extend my existing network rather than act as a separate router. The job is straightforward but I’d like a professional to walk me through each step—or handle it remotely—so nothing is missed.
Here’s what I need done:
• Reset the router, update to the latest TP-Link firmware if necessary, and switch its operating mode to Access Point.
• Assign a fixed LAN IP outside my primary router’s DHCP range and disable its own DHCP server.
• Configure a secure SSID and password that match (or complement) my current Wi-Fi.
• Confirm internet connectivity on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and verify devices can roam seamlessly between my main router and the new access point.
