EPIRB Data Decoding with GNURadio and Python
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
EPIRB's test signal will be collected with an SDR device and processed with the python code which will be generated through GNURadio Companion. EPIRB's test signal will be provided by me as a raw RF signal file.
Required outputs;
- Full Hex Message transmitted by the EPIRB
- Center frequency of the received signal
- Strength of the received signal
The output data will be written to a text file.
Note: EPIRB is a emergency radiobeacon device which sends distress messages to the COSPAS-SARSAT satellites from 406 MHz. (400bps BPSK data sent through NFM)
