I want to disable a program from communicating (automatically backing up) with the programs online servers

I have installed the desktop version of this software and it syncs with the online program.

This is a screenwriting program and I don't want my work syncing/backing up online. The company said it can't be turned off.

I have tried signing out online but the the Windows desktop version still backups my work online.

Is there someway I can separate my desktop version from their servers online?

My work can not entirely be proprietary if I am allowing my work to be syncing with their servers !

I think it has something to do with App Permissions on Windows

If anyone can tell me how to tweak the Registry so this is a stand alone desktop version of the program this would be my project
