Windows Desktop App: Files, Data, Chat
Budget: $100,000 – $0 USD
I need a full-featured Windows desktop application that blends three core capabilities in one seamless interface:
• File management – a clean explorer-style module that lets users browse, search, copy, move, rename, and organise local files and folders quickly.
• Data analysis – the ability to import common formats (CSV, Excel, maybe JSON), run basic statistics, filter, sort, and generate simple visual summaries or charts right inside the app.
• Integrated chat – a built-in messaging panel so users can exchange text messages and small attachments in real time without leaving the program. A lightweight local or server-based solution is fine as long as it is secure.
I’m targeting modern Windows 10/11 machines, so a solid native feel is important. You are free to choose the tech stack that best suits these goals—C#/.NET (WinUI, WPF), Electron, Python + PyQt, or any comparable toolkit—as long as it delivers a responsive UI, straightforward installer, and clean, well-documented source code.
Deliverables
• Executable installer (.exe or MSI) ready for end users
• Full, buildable source code with comments
• Brief setup/usage guide
• A short demo video or live walkthrough showing the three modules working together
Acceptance criteria
1. Smooth launch and operation on a fresh Windows 10/11 machine.
2. Each core feature (file operations, analysis workflow, real-time chat) demonstrated without crashes or noticeable lag.
3. Code passes a quick review for clarity and organisation.
If you’re confident you can merge these functions elegantly, let’s discuss your proposed architecture and timeline.
