Secure Windows EXE Ebook Builder -- 2
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a standalone compiler that takes a finished HTML project and wraps it into a single Windows .exe ebook, very much like the original EbookPro (archive link above). The generated ebook must run on any modern Windows PC and reproduce the classic features—custom splash screen, navigation panel, internal search, resizable window, and bookmarking—while adding stronger protection.
My must-have security layer is two-fold:
• Password protection at launch so each buyer receives a unique unlock code.
• Built-in DRM that lets me remotely and automatically deactivate a copy at any time. The moment I flip a flag on the server, that specific .exe should refuse to open or automatically self-delete the local content. No sharing, printing, or “save as” functions may slip through.
Look at ebookpro.com at https://web.archive.org/web/20040921003845/http://www.ebookpro.com/
I’ve already prepared a “Grok” starter folder that includes sample HTML, icons, and preliminary UI artwork; you are free to restructure it as long as nothing breaks the workflow (HTML-in → EXE-out). Please keep the build process simple: drop the HTML folder into the compiler, set the password/ID, click “Build”, and the ready-to-ship ebook appears.
Deliverables
1. Source code with brief documentation so I can recompile for future updates.
2. The finished Windows compiler (.exe) plus one demo ebook proving password, DRM, and remote deletion all function correctly.
3. A concise user guide covering build steps and server-side kill-switch instructions.
Success is confirmed when I can distribute the demo, revoke a single license from my dashboard, and watch only that copy become inaccessible while untouched copies keep working.
