Windows "Server"

Job ID: 32546479

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

Microsoft excel worksheets can have their values updated from outside code.

In other words we can change the value of cell A3 from '500' to '1000'. Using some outside development tools, without even opening up the XL document. (we do this regularly on a Linux-based Web server)

We have some Java code that does manipulate the value of the XL cell.

We can also read the value of a cell. Are Java code can look into the cell and tell us at the cell value of B3 is '750'.

The problem is, XL must be opened in a Microsoft environment in order to execute the formula on the spreadsheet.

What I would like to create is this:

Set up an AWS windows instance.

I want to http(s) post, from my linus server, an excel spreadsheet that has had a few cells changed to the AWS server.

I want to Open the posted excel sheet so that Excels native engince can casue all of the formula in the workbook to update.

I want the Server to the save the "updated/calculation complete" spreadsheet and respond back to my orignal http post with the updated excel document.

This does not necessarily need to be very high volume No more than 50 sheet a minute Max. (if I can have high-volume – – that's wonderful, but I don't need it)

Does this sound like a good solution to my problem? Can you think of a better one? Please tell us how you would approach this. And if it makes sense we would like to pay you to do so. We need this done in a relatively short time (in the next week or so)

I am less interested in your résumé than I am in your solution to this problem.

Do not send me a generic cover letters I do not address this specific problem. It would be a waste of your time in mine.
