VMware Sphere 6.5 - Problems with storage performance
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We have a farm with VMware 6.5 installed on 5 physical hosts.
We have 3 storages (2 supermicro running Windows Server 2012 R2 and 1 QNAP T341K).
Our QNAP storage is running degraded due to a 1-disk failure, but even if it didn't, we believe it would also have some performance issue.
The switch ports are connected to Gigabit (hosts and storages)
However, the other two storages have a very low performance, around 60 MB/s in one of them and 100 MB/s in the other on average.
If you compare it to another local server where we don't have storage and only internal disks, we're getting around 563 MB/sec.
This performance is being measured using CrystalDisk Mark 8.0.4
We have already reviewed any problem with jumbo frame and we were not able to identify any divergences in the configuration (switches, physical host boards and storage boards).
