Microsoft Server 2012 R2 Boot Issue

Job ID: 33394488

Budget: $15 – $25 AUD

We have a Microsoft Server 2012 R2 that has was running on KVM virtualization. It has been imaged and restored onto an ESXi host. At present the system does not boot with a 0xc0000001 black screen no boot error message.
We have tried performing the following:
1. sfc /scannow
2. bootrec /fixboot /scanos /rebuildbcd

We also tried this option.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/bootrec-scanos-or-bootrec-rebuildbcd-not-working/7f438395-2f1d-46fe-a1cb-fdcfce9f9c43

The original system was in bios mode with the new vm being bios mode as well. The original harddrive was setup as ide with the new vm having it setup as ide as well.

All the data looks intact however booting is not working.

The issue we are experiencing seems to be a common one when you restore from a backup and make some hardware changes.
