Laravel Web Portal Troubleshooting & Fixes on Windows VPS
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Our Laravel-based client portal has started misbehaving since the last server update on our Windows VPS. Although I have already restored the database connection, two critical pieces are still broken and I need them back online quickly:
• Excel upload on the admin page – every attempt ends with “The newDashboard failed to upload.”
• File management area – any upload or download triggers a 500 Server Error plus a PHP warning: “Unable to create temporary file.”
Both features were working flawlessly before the update, so the root cause is almost certainly lingering permission or path issues introduced during the patch. I need someone who can dive into the Laravel codebase, server file-system permissions, and any related PHP settings to locate the issues and correct them.
Acceptance will be straightforward:
1. Successful admin upload of the Excel workbook as before, with it then appearing in the dashboards as expected (following an hourly python script run which is still working).
2. Successful upload, viewing and download of test PDF documents without errors or corruption.
If you’re comfortable troubleshooting Laravel on a Windows VPS, handling file-system permissions, and reading PHP/Python logs, we're ready to get this resolved right away.
