Job ID: 38626273

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm seeking a professional with experience in setting up DNS and DHCP services on a Windows 2019 server for a small office environment. The primary objective is to streamline/troubleshoot the management of our internal network in regards to DNS & DHCP.

Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Windows 2019 server
- Proven track record in configuring DNS and DHCP
- Ability to optimize network management for a small office
- No need for integration with existing systems, hence a simpler setup
- Strong problem-solving skills to ensure smooth network operations

We have a domain controller (Windows Server 2019) that was recently set up. We are on the final steps and we are now dealing with some DNS issues. Our domain controller is also the local DHCP & DNS server for the LAN. We are having issues with in correct DNS resolving errors.

The domain’s external DNS server is Network Solutions. It has a wildcard entry for the domain in question.
On the server itself whenever a nslookup is performed to www.yahoo.com, it returns www.yahoo.com.ourdomainname.com This of course causes issues.

We need someone to review and adjust the following items to best practices:

1. Review the DNS entries on the server in question.
2. Review the DHCP scope on the server in question.
3. Review the DNS entries on Network solutions and advise changes.
4. Review the TCP/IP settings on the two server NICs.

In the end, DNS should work as expected both primary and secondary.
