Wikipedia Biography Editing & Translation

Job ID: 40091105

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Several biographical articles are already drafted in Portuguese and need to be transformed into polished, fully compliant entries on the English-language Wikipedia. They read well enough in their original form, but each one still requires a careful translation, a check against every relevant policy, and the addition (or replacement) of reliable, properly formatted citations.

What has to happen:
• Translate the existing text into fluent, neutral English that aligns with the Manual of Style for biographies.
• Verify notability and neutrality, trimming or re-phrasing any promotional language so the content satisfies COI, NPOV and BLP expectations.
• Supply inline citations using reliable secondary sources—books, academic journals, reputable news outlets, etc.—and format them with the usual citation templates.
• Move each article from sandbox/draft to the main namespace, handle page creation, categories, infoboxes and Wikidata links, and remain available for a round of post-publication tweaks if the community flags issues.

The work is entirely within the biography space; no institutional pages are in scope. Because all articles are “already written but need revision,” you will be building on existing material rather than writing from scratch, but the finished pieces must read as if they were conceived in English from the outset.

Experience editing on en-wiki is essential—please point me to live pages you have created or significantly improved.
