We are looking for an experienced WordPress expert to provide day-to-day technical management, troubleshooting, and optimisation for a live eCommerce/content website built on WordPress (Astra theme, Rank Math SEO, multiple plugins).

This is an ongoing role for someone who can act as our reliable technical partner and ensure the site remains stable, fast, secure, and fully indexed by Google.

Responsibilities
Website Maintenance & Stability
Monitor site health and fix PHP errors or conflicts
Ensure theme, plugins, and WordPress core are fully compatible
Troubleshoot issues (fatal errors, layout breaks, plugin conflicts)
Manage staging and safe updates before deployment
SEO & Indexing Support
Maintain correct Rank Math SEO configuration
Monitor Google Search Console for indexing issues
Fix “noindex”, crawl errors, and sitemap issues
Ensure pages remain properly indexed and optimised
Performance & Security
Improve site speed and Core Web Vitals
Manage caching and optimisation tools
Implement security best practices (firewall, login protection, logs)
Monitor for suspicious activity or plugin vulnerabilities
Plugin & Theme Management
Manage WPCode snippets and custom scripts safely
Maintain Astra theme (and child theme if used)
Ensure plugins do not conflict or break site functionality
Ongoing Improvements
Suggest improvements for UX, SEO, and conversions
Fix broken pages, redirects, and internal linking issues
Assist with content structure and technical SEO improvements Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience with WordPress (3+ years minimum)
Deep understanding of:
PHP basics (debugging, not necessarily full development)
WordPress hooks/actions
Theme and plugin conflicts
Experience with:
Rank Math SEO
Astra theme
WooCommerce (if applicable)
WPCode or similar snippet tools
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Understanding of Google Search Console & indexing issues
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience fixing fatal PHP errors in production sites
SEO technical background
Experience with Cloudflare / caching systems
Knowledge of site migrations and backups
Familiarity with WordPress Activity Log tools
Work Style
Ongoing long-term support (not one-off project)
Fast response to urgent site issues
Ability to diagnose problems quickly and accurately
Proactive monitoring and prevention (not just reactive fixes)

We need someone who can:

Identify root causes (not just apply temporary fixes)
Ensure site stability and indexing is not disrupted again
Work safely on a live site without breaking SEO or traffic
