Revive Dormant WordPress Magazine

My WordPress-based magazine has been sitting untouched for about seven years and I’m ready to bring it back online safely. The job starts with a full site audit, then moves through updates and hardening:

• Create or locate a clean backup before any work begins—I’m not sure one exists, so we may need to generate it from the server.
• Update WordPress core to the latest stable release and raise the server’s PHP version to match.
• Replace every outdated, vulnerable, discontinued or conflicting plug-in with secure, fully supported alternatives. Anything unnecessary should be removed outright.
• Install a fresh, well-maintained magazine theme (the current “Edition” theme is end-of-life) and migrate all existing layouts so every article and accompanying image survives the transition intact. Articles & posts plus images & media are the two content types I absolutely must keep.
• Activate SSL on both mapped domains, force HTTPS, and eliminate any “not secure” warnings, mixed-content errors, or certificate issues.
• When the dust settles, verify that navigation, comments, search, and any custom widgets work flawlessly on desktop and mobile, and confirm performance with basic speed tests.

I’ll supply hosting and dashboard credentials as soon as we agree on a plan and timeline. Once everything passes final checks I’d like a brief hand-off note explaining what was changed and pointers for routine upkeep.
