website for tech blogging

I am looking to create a website for tech blogging, with the main purpose of getting higher SEO rankings and monetizing the website. My general design preferences should be kept in mind, but I am certainly open to suggestions. I prefer to use the Wordpress content management system for the successful creation of my website.
