opify Website Update - new design and new functionality

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

This Statement of Work outlines the scope, objectives, deliverables, timeline, and responsibilities involved for the redesign, development, and deployment of a fully functional, responsive website for an Australian based Funeral Home.

The site is currently built using Shopify. The scope of delivery is as follows:
1: Implement redesign of the layout and style of the website
2: Enable a shopping cart with payment options for the resale of third party items
3: Potential Integration with an existing third party platforms
4: Ability for the customer to be able to update content on the website

The Project Design and Development
The project will encompass the implementation of redesigned layout and styles - to be provided The number of pages for the site will be based on approximately 10-15 pages (see details below), designed to enhance user experience and engagement.

Design of layouts to be provided by the client for implementation. The successful supplier is not required to provide design services.

Core pages to be implemented
The following core pages will be implemented based on the existing sitemap (refer to Wireframes for desktop and mobile see attached):
1: Homepage (existing static page)
2: Funerals and Services - page listing coming funerals, is currently only listed as Funerals, page only has current funerals (to be updated) - Dynamic + user functionality using Shopify Blog functionality
3: Listing of Service offerings (new static page)
4: Planning Ahead, (existing) - (existing static page)
5: Potential integration with third party Live Streaming service (scope to be agreed) - integration of existing streaming capability, (existing page) - Dynamic + new user functionality
6: Help and Advice, and Not existing, however Blog (existing) - Static

Key functionality beyond core web pages
Existing capability to be reskinned
1: Planning a funeral - making a query re future funeral - Contact us form
2: Be able to view and search funeral notices, death and funeral details - including search functionality:
- Funerals represented in an upcoming services ui sorted by date - approx 20 services per month. A funeral is a blog post / event setup by the funeral home
- Past funerals (midnight) - shows history. Incl. search and ability to view previous recorded stream
- People can leave tribute comments online (in the form of a blog comment) - Does not require a username or password by the end user. Anyone can submit a tribute (Blog Comment) which is moderated by the Funeral Home
3: Watching a live stream of a funeral using NAOKA - Ideal workflow for setting up a live stream is that the Funeral Home Employee creates a funeral event in the Shopify platform with a date and time and clicks a checkbox in the Shopify platform to add a video stream via NAOKA API.

New capability
Mandatory capability
1: Light a candle or send a virtual hug for the funeral as an extension to leaving a tribute - ie provide a series of image options to be added to a tribute message (Candle, Virtual Hug, peaceful image etc (Client to provide these options). No authentication or account required for end users.
2: Family of funeral customer does not need a log in to view the feedback from visitors
3: Customer Funeral configurator - Ability for customers to answer a series of questions re their requirements that Funeral Parlor can then reach out to the customer to have a sales conversation to refine the customer’s requirements and ultimately provide a price - detailed business rules currently in development:
A max of 8 steps with up three questions in each step
4: Flip booklet for coffins for customers to be able to view different options - Static gallery of coffins (incl. descriptions that can be viewed by users of the website
5: Shopping cart capacity to enable customers to order flowers and other funeral related items provided by a third party, including payments gateway

Nice to have
Integration between website and third party streaming provider (Naoca) so that Funeral Home staff can enter data once to create a new Funeral service on the website and schedule the associated streaming event on Naoca. Refer to API documentation of Naoca/Memories - API connectivity to create events from Shopify into Naoca (https://naoca-api.readme.io/reference/getting-started-1),

Browser compatibility
- Ensure browser cross compatibility to ensure a consistent user experience, reducing the risk of website malfunctions, and broadens the potential audience.
- Ensure compatibility on desktop, table and mobile including responsiveness to function correctly and consistently across various web browsers and devices (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, IPad and mobile phones).

Build / Technical Specifications
- The proposed build for the website is in Shopify which will give the customer full control over building pages and authoring content.
- Platform: Shopify and custom CSS. If plugins are required to deliver particular functionality, this will be determined as part of the build, and will be advised if this will be included or needed. Any cost associated with plug-ins will be conveyed to the customer as part of the build of the website.

SEO
The build should adhere to SEO best practice (logical URLs, text and tags for images, semantically correct structure). Optimize each page with relevant keywords to enhance organic search visibility. The use of industry standard SEO implementations to ensure the site shows up in Google search. Google raking and crawl will need to be executed.

Client to provide all SEO requirements for file names, page titles, H1s, Alt tags, Page descriptions, etc. prior to build.

Set up hosting and domain configuration
Domain is with Godaddy.com, while the website is currently hosted with Shopify. The existing domain will be repointed to the new website as part of the development. Client to provide necessary shopify environment for development.

Testing
The testing phase will include bug fixes, minor design adjustments, and functional improvements, along with one minor alteration to enhance usability.
A user testing session will be conducted to evaluate the website’s performance and functionality.
Any additional changes beyond the agreed scope will require review with the programmer to ensure they remain within the project budget.
Bug reporting and management via Gleap or comparable software.
Security
The system shall enforce secure authentication practices, including the use of strong usernames and passwords. Two-factor authentication (2FA) shall be available to be implemented to enhance account security.

Timeline
- Development: - 4 weeks
- Test phase: - 1 week post Development
- Bugs and changes: - + 2 weeks post testing (pending on what is required)
- Live to market

Acceptance Criteria
The project will be considered complete when The website meets all functional and design requirements - as pre agreed in this SOW.

Support & Maintenance
The developer will provide 2 months of post-launch support to address bugs. Additional ongoing maintenance can be arranged at an agreed-upon rate.

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience with Shopify design and functionality.
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) to improve website layout.
- Knowledge of integrating payment gateways
- Ability to develop custom inquiry wizards or similar functionalities using off the shelf plugin
