book review blog design

Job ID: 38465340

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I currently have a blog at http://www.mrbooksbookreviews.com which I want to completely overhaul the design.

Here is what I would like to do:

Global header:
Top of the screen have, in big text, MR. BOOK’S BOOK REVIEWS, while my site’s logo is located on both the left and right hand side. I suppose there should also be off to the right hand side at the top the social media icons. At the moment, I would need twitter and Goodreads. I don’t have a Facebook account at the moment, but may add that in the near future, might not.
Right below that, in smaller type, would be the slogan Your place for non-fiction reviews.
The final row of the header will be a menu with the following items from left to right:
1) a dropdown list of all categories, in the user can just click on a category and go to the page with all of that category’s reviews.
2) a couple of category listings, that would be featured individually (while also being in the master list of all categories). That would be 2024 new releases and Hall of Fame inductees.
3) Then some links to some posts. I currently have in mind at the moment Rules for the HOF, maybe a master list of all books read in the year, and a link to an about page.

I’d like to have a row that has a block for each of the major categories, such as
history, politics, baseball, 2024 releases, Hall of Fame books. I’d like to have my site’s logo in each of the individual boxes, with the subject in all caps below that, with the exception of the Hall of Fame books, which will have the logo I designed for my Book Hall of Fame. When you click on each block, you would then be brought to a page which has post title/thumbnails for each post in that category and then the user can click on each one to get to that review.

Below that, I’d like to have blocks for a few of those major categories: new releases, Hall of Fame inductees, history, politics and baseball.
The format for that would be MOST RECENT HISTORY (etc.) BOOKS and then below that, thumbnail images of about 5 of the most recent books in that category that link to that book’s review. The viewer could be click on the “MOST RECENT HISTORY” text to get to the history category or click on the thumbnail or title of the book to get to its review.

Then, the homepage would conclude with the section of all of the recent reviews. I’m thinking maybe about 5 books or so per row, maybe a default of about 4-5 rows and then the view can keep on clicking a “more” button.
I’m envisioning a layout of each block being:
Thumbnail of the book’s image
BOOK TITLE
Categories for that book
The user could then either click on the book’s title or image to get to the post that contains that book and could click on any of the categories for a book to get to that particular category’s page.

I am interested in knowing how much this would cost and approximately how long it takes to do it.
