Website transfer to Squarespace from Godaddy with design updates

Job ID: 31315252

Budget: $15 – $35 USD

I am a visual artist working in video, performance and photography.
My website needs to be updated to better showcase the work with larger images/videos, so I decided to get a Squarespace site **although now I'm wondering if I should have gotten WordPress because I'm finding the templates on Squarespace very limiting.

Currently my site is hosted on Godaddy and my domain is on Joker:
www.cortneyandrews.com
I want to move it all over to one platform and get it live asap.
If you look at my current site, you will see I have videos that are larger, and below more thumbnails to expand in lightroom, it presents as a cohesive project.

I've attached some screenshots of what I've already built on Squarespace.
I'm have troubling in SquareSpace with many things:

I want the landing page to have about 3 different images it cycles through, full bleed. Right now I can only get the one - attached.

I want the copyright text to be very small be at the bottom of each page, without all the white space around it that Spacespace is forcing me to do in the "footer" section - see attached.

I want the videos to be the wider section in the gallery, with rows of thumbnails below that can be expanded. You can see in the attached, it forces me to add a new section and there is a lot of white space between the video and the thumbnails but this should be read as one project, not two separate sections- see current website and attached new squarespace page.

I'm pretty good with design and can get the videos and images transferred over myself, but I think I need some custom code to get the site set up to perform the way I want.

I also have a couple of custom design pages on my current site that I'd like to keep when I transfer over. These pages are not linked in navigation. Here is an example of one of those pages:

So basically I need to get these pages set up so I can add to them easily and copy paste, transfer over the code so I can keep the custom video pages from my current site, and once that is done, perhaps some assistance with the hosting transfer from Godaddy to the new site to get it live.

I just bought the Squarespace site, but if Wordpress is a better option for what I need to do, I'm open to changing it. I don't know the capabilities of SquareSpace, but it seems over simplified and I'm finding customizing is difficult.
