Shopify Customization for Veterinary Mobile App & Web
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
We are operating a mobile web app in conjunction with an active veterinary hospital.
• After setting up Shopify commerce, we aim to customize its features. We prefer using Shopify apps for additional feature implementation, and if that’s not feasible, we would like to discuss alternative development methods.
Current Project Status:
• Design is more than 90% complete.
• Integration and app packaging of Shopify commerce along with (if necessary) independently developed pages and features.
Required Elements:
• UI/UX design (for changes from the existing design)
• Web publishing
• Web development (Shopify customization)
Additional Development Requirements:
• Veterinary appointment booking feature: Need to review whether this can be integrated with existing Shopify booking apps or features.
• Pet community: Need to review whether this can be integrated with existing Shopify apps or features.
• A typical bulletin board-style community with product and location tagging features included.
• Pet commerce and adoption: To be built on Shopify, with possible Liquid code modifications.
Notes:
• Using Shopify apps is the first priority. If difficult, we plan to proceed by developing new web pages and integrating them into Shopify.

• Infrastructure: AWS
• Language: To be discussed.

**History:**
Previously, an in-house team had developed the web platform. However, the project eventually shifted to Shopify. For the new development requirements, if Shopify proves to be limiting, the preferred approach is to either develop a custom app or create a standalone web platform that can be embedded. It needs to be verified whether this method is technically feasible. Reviewing the Figma files will help identify what needs to be added.
Scope Not Included in Figma:
• In the calendar screen in Figma, there is a reference to a “My Registered Pets” list.
→ The screen for registering and managing pets is missing.
• An external database needs to be built—using Firebase is recommended—since it is necessary to track which pets a user has selected.
To view each administrator’s registered pet list, integration with an external or internal DB is required.
• The specific implementation method is flexible, but this functionality must be realized.
• A pet registration page must be added.
Client’s Final Direction:
Ultimately, the client is open to either:
• Building a web page that is de-linked or simply embedded
• Or creating a custom Shopify app that is embedded.
It is our decision to make.
Using Shopify’s Storefront API is also an option. The choice of development language is flexible as long as it enables functional implementation.
Additional Context:
The previously in-house developed codebase is built with React and Next.js for mobile. This code can be reused and will be shared.
The client prefers the final web/app to be built using AWS infrastructure.
Summary:
This is a Shopify customization project. The key objective is not to confine functionalities strictly within Shopify, but to explore solutions such as API integrations or embedding external apps.

Since Shopify has customization limitations, we are considering working with a company that can clearly explain how they will implement features that are difficult to customize within Shopify—whether by developing a new web or app in an embedded format or through another method.
