Rating & Review Platform

Job ID: 38709211

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

Overview

I’m looking to build a superyacht rating and review platform where yacht crew members can rate their experiences working on different yachts. The platform will function similarly to Glassdoor.com, but instead of companies, it will focus on superyachts. Crew members will be able to leave detailed ratings and feedback on various aspects of working on specific yachts.

Key Features

1. Yacht Profile Pages:
• Create dynamic yacht profile pages for each yacht, displaying details such as yacht name, size, and year built, all pulled from a yacht dataset.
• These pages should dynamically update with ratings and feedback left by crew members. Please note that yacht’s do not need to sign into their profile, the profile is purely a place to house the ratings for each yacht.

2. Search Functionality:
• Implement a search box on the homepage where users can search for yachts by name. As well as a ‘Top 100’ ranking page that pulls the Top rated 100 vessels
• When a yacht is selected, the user will be taken to that yacht’s profile page to view more in depth ratings and information.

3. Rating and Review System:
• Crew members will be able to rate yachts based on several categories:
• Salary (auto-calculated using an algorithm that I have made)
• Annual Leave (auto-calculated using an algorithm that I have made)
• Longevity (auto-calculated using an algorithm that I have made)
• Leadership/Management (rated out of 10)
• Crew Morale & Welfare (rated out of 10)
• Vessel Itinerary (rated out of 10)
• Crew Accommodation (rated out of 10)
• Crew Amenities (rated out of 10)
• Career Progression/Opportunities (rated out of 10)
• Safety Standards (rated out of 10)
• The rating system will calculate an overall score based on weighted averages for each category. This will all be provided for you.
4. Algorithm for Salary, Leave, and Longevity:
• Salary: The platform will calculate if a crew member’s salary is competitive by comparing it to an industry dataset based on their role and yacht size.
• Annual Leave: Similar to salary, the system will auto-calculate if the leave is competitive based on a dataset that compares it to industry standards.
• Longevity: Longevity ratings will be auto-calculated based on how long the crew member has worked on the yacht, compared to standard ranges in the industry.
• All other categories (leadership, morale, safety, etc.) will be rated directly by users on a scale of 1 to 10, the Yacht’s profile will show the overall score, plus a breakdown of all of the category scores based on the average score given by crew.
5. Review Submission and Approval Process:
• Crew members will submit reviews by filling out a form with the above ratings and uploading their employment contract or joining letter as verification.
• An approval workflow will ensure that reviews are verified before being made public. Admins will manually verify the contract/letter and approve the review.
6. Account Creation and Login:
• Users must create an account and log in to leave reviews.
• Reviews and detailed ratings will only be viewable by logged-in users to encourage account sign-ups.
7. Database Integration:
• I have yacht dataset (name, size, year built) as well as datasets for industry salary standards, leave entitlements, and longevity benchmarks. This data will need to be integrated and linked to the rating system for auto-calculated scores.

Deliverables

1. Yacht Profile Pages: Dynamically generated profiles that display information and reviews for each yacht.
2. Search Functionality: A search box on the homepage to search for yachts and direct users to the relevant profile.
3. Rating System: Users can submit ratings, and the platform will auto-calculate certain scores based on datasets provided.
4. Review Submission and Approval Workflow: Admins can manually approve reviews based on contract verification.
5. User Account Creation and Login: Users must create an account to leave and view reviews.
6. Algorithm Implementation: Auto-calculate scores for salary, leave, and longevity based on industry standards and datasets provided. Algorithm can be provided for you.
7. Scalability: The platform should be able to handle thousands of yacht profiles and user reviews.

Inspiration

The platform should function similarly to Glassdoor.com, but specifically for superyachts. Users will be able to search for yachts, view profiles, and submit reviews with ratings based on their experience working aboard.

Timeline & Communication

• Ideally, I would like the platform to be completed within 4 weeks maximum.
• I’m looking for regular communication and updates on progress.

Additional Notes

• I have datasets for yachts, salary ranges, and leave standards that will need to be integrated into the platform for the algorithmic calculations.
• The site must be very easy to maintain and update information on, such as editing content and adding new yachts, and scalable for future updates.
